Job Description

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Children’s Support Workers to join our team, providing essential care and support to children and young people in residential care and supported living settings. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children, helping them to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. As a Children’s Support Worker you’ll be supporting children under the age of 18 to lead a purposeful life and maintain their independence by attending school, and supporting with recreational activities such as bowling, swimming and days out. Services require support workers to work days, waking nights and sleeping shifts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with the children, offering guidance, encouragement, and support in their daily activities.
  • Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and educational support where needed.
  • Support children in achieving their personal goals and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals to ensure a consistent approach to care.
  • Maintain accurate records of the child’s progress and any concerns, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Participate in activities, outings, and therapy sessions designed to promote the children’s development and social skills.

Requirements:

  • Dysphagia, Epilepsy and medication trained is preferred but we can provide this training if necessary.
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or emotional and behavioural difficulties, is desirable
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

8.30am - 3.30pm, 5 days a week
